Professor Leaver provided markers to identify fake videos, including context, verifying through third-party sources, and image manipulation. He emphasized the need for multiple angles to validate the video's authenticity, but warned that AI tools may soon generate such angles, challenging content verification techniques.
"The amount of fake content generated after the Bondi shooting is a prime example of how easily misinformation can spread," Leaver cautioned.

Dr. Adrian Gutteridge, a shark biologist from the Marine Stewardship Council, identified the animal as a bull shark. He explained that these sharks typically wash up when they are sick or dying. "Bull sharks are unique in their ability to navigate between ocean and river systems, making them a common resident of the Brisbane River," Gutteridge said.
Pregnant female bull sharks often swim upriver into freshwater to give birth, benefiting from reduced predator presence and increased food sources. As they grow, they migrate back down the rivers and towards Moreton Bay.
