Patrick (Paddy) Grealis, beloved member of the Midwest Radio community, passed away peacefully at home on November 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancy, and daughter, Jacqueline. Paddy leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his three daughters, Nicola, Donna, and Erika, and their respective families. His brothers, Chris and Peter, and seven adored grandchildren, Kelvin, Clive, Kianna, Derek, Kaleb, Leah, and Lauren, will also mourn his loss. Additionally, his sons-in-law, Seamus, Jim, and Michael, and his sisters-in-law, Kathleen, Bridgie, and Mary, will miss him dearly. Paddy's passing will be deeply felt by his nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbors, and friends.
The community is invited to pay their respects during the reposing at Gaynor’s Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Wednesday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Following this, prayers will be held, and the procession will continue into St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 pm, followed by a private family cremation at Shannon Crematorium.
Paddy's funeral Mass can be viewed live on St. Patrick’s Church webcam for those who cannot attend in person. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed and can be made to Palliative Care, c/o Gaynor Funeral Directors. Due to privacy considerations, the family requests that the house remains private during this time.
